Guanzon, 3 Others Eyeing Sara Duterte’s 2028 Slate
Vice President Sara Duterte said former Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon and three others have informed her of their intention to be part of her ticket in the 2028 polls.

Four people have expressed interest in joining her senatorial slate for the 2028 national elections, Vice President Sara Duterte revealed on Saturday, March 14.
In a chance interview in Davao City, Duterte said that former Commission on Elections commissioner Rowena Guanzon and three others have informed her of their intention to be part of her ticket in the 2028 polls.
Asked whether she was considering them as candidates under her slate, Duterte replied, “I am allergic to politicians now. They should just consider me.”
On Feb. 18, Duterte announced her intention to run for president in 2028.
She also revealed that she has already “recruited” a possible running mate since last year, but declined to disclose the person’s identity, saying the individual has yet to make a final decision.
“Let us wait for the person to make a decision. Let us not bother the person. Let us not name the person because of possible attacks and they might try to ruin his or her name, so let us wait for him or her to make a decision,” she added.
Duterte said that if they win in 2028, her vice presidential running mate would focus on holding accountable those involved in corruption and wrongdoing against the public so she could concentrate on her duties as president.
The Marcos administration has yet to name its presidential candidate for the 2028 elections.
