Chic N’ Honey: Re-Launching a Family Restaurant Amidst the Pandemic

For most people, starting a business in the midst of a global pandemic is the last thing on their to-do list. But, it might not be such a crazy idea for the ones who re-launched Chic n’ Honey – a family restaurant that aims to make every customer feel that they are at home and part of a big family -- spearheaded by General Manager, Krisia Tan.

WHAT IS CHIC N’ HONEY?

The idea of Chic n’ Honey started in the year 2016. It was just a simple business idea to sell grab-and-go chicken in one small corner of a mall. This concept grew bigger and turned into a casual dining restaurant with the goal of offering affordable and delightful meals for Filipino consumers and through this business, be able to provide sustainable employment.

WHY THE NAME, CHIC N’ HONEY?

The brand name “Chic n’ Honey” refers to the classy ambiance of the restaurant with honey as the base ingredient of the bestselling fried chicken. The store also promotes the benefits of using honey over traditional table sugar as sweetener.

WHAT CHANGE DID CHIC N’ HONEY GO THROUGH DURING THE PANDEMIC?

As with any business, the pandemic posed a variety of challenges to Chic n’ Honey, which made them adapt immediately.

Since the beginning of Chic n’ Honey in 2016, the local family restaurant has gone through several menu developments with the goal to keep up with the ever-changing demands of the market.

The global pandemic challenged the management and the staff to come up with a simplified menu that introduced this new concept of fried chicken with several dips to choose from beautifully and safely boxed -- ready to be delivered at the comfort of any customers’ home or office. Other challenges posed during the lockdown in Manila was the forced closing of their establishments in SM Manila and Ayala Malls Vertis North to observe ECQ and MECQ protocols for everyone’s safety.

However, with the management’s passion for business and compassion for employees, Chic n’ Honey is striving to survive, recover and sustain the business for its stakeholders.

Although the company is a small player in the industry, the owners are very much dedicated to live up to the company’s goals because they believe in the brand’s quality and potential. Chic n’ Honey’s aim is to be found all over the Philippines in the next 5 years to provide the general public with affordable and delightful meals while simultaneously creating value for all shareholders.
