Citing Sources, Gadon Says SC Disbarred Him

I have learned from reliable sources that the Supreme Court has decided to DISBAR me in its en banc session today June 27, 2023.

My remedy and reaction to this is to file a Motion For Reconsideration on the ground that the penalty is too harsh for the alleged cause which was my outburst against a reporter who was blatantly spreading lies against (President Bongbong Marcos) during the campaign period intended to fool the public on issues intended to cause damage to the candidacy of (President) Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

(Last year, the Supreme Court ordered the preventive suspension of Gadon and directed him to explain why he should not be disbarred for a viral video showing him spewing profanities and sexist remarks against journalist Raissa Robles. Gadon uploaded the video after Robles supposedly accused Marcos of being a tax evader.)

I will treat this matter as a personal concern as it will not also affect my commitment to President Ferdinand Marcos (Jr.) to help his administration achieve its goals and implement its programs to serve the public particularly on the aspect of poverty alleviation.

The position and the task given to me by the President do not require lawyering hence my suspension and disbarment have no effect on my appointment. I will just approach this issue on a personal concern, file a motion for reconsideration and proceed in facing the challenges of the job and aim to serve the public in my best capability.

I will entertain interviews and (queries) only in connection with my new job and advocacy and treat the Supreme Court issue as a personal matter that has nothing to do with the responsibilities and (advocacies) attached to the job as Presidential Adviser on Poverty Alleviation.

I WILL NOT ENTERTAIN QUESTIONS ON THIS SUPREME COURT MATTER BEING SUBJUDICE.

I did not pay too much attention on this since I have stopped practicing and appearing in Courts since 2015 when I got involved in politics.

(And) retired na ako sa law practice, kaya puro abroad na ginagawa ko.

I just (can’t) refuse the call for public service.

It is our way of giving back the good fortunes we have enjoyed through the years.

You can see in my (Facebook) I have been going abroad (many,) many times after the election.

It's okay if the Supreme Court thinks that I am to be disbarred. Anyway, I have a new mandate now. I am here to serve as a secretary, not as a lawyer. I will just continue to serve the Filipino people.

If this is what it takes to be a public servant, then I am willing to pay the price for the Filipino people. Political machinations is rampant but I will not fret, I will not stop serving the Filipino people.

Thousand lawyers do not practice their profession and are not even renewing anymore their IBP (Integrated Bar of the Philippines) IDs or paying their membership dues because they are busy in other much lucrative ventures or higher paying jobs, or simply because they are now retired and just opted to enjoy their retirement and live a quiet, abundant, luxurious life. My option to help the President and serve our people has a more noble appeal now.
