China issued a warning to the International Criminal Court on Tuesday, March 11, urging against “politicization” and “double standards” in the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

The arrest was linked to a warrant tied to his controversial war on drugs.

When asked about their sentiments on the arrest, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said “China has noted the relevant information and is closely monitoring the development of the situation.”
