WITH VIDEO | Marcos Arrives In Canada, Meets With PM Carney

VANCOUVER – President Marcos and his delegation arrived here on Thursday, July 2 and met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Joseph Carney.

The two leaders were expected to witness the signing of various agreements following their bilateral meeting.

The President is in Canada for a four-day official visit upon the invitation of Carney.

Marcos said on Wednesday, July 1, he would pursue greater collaboration in mining, critical minerals, renewable energy, trade, investment, culture and tourism with Canada.

The two leaders were also expected to discuss regional and global issues, including developments in the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.

Marcos is scheduled to attend several business meetings tomorrow, July 4, as part of his official engagements.

The President said the key objective of the visit is to attract more Canadian investments in strategic industries in the Philippines, including mining, IT-business process management, nuclear energy, telecommunications, cyber technology and financial services through meetings with business leaders and investors.

Marcos will meet members of the Filipino community here, now numbering nearly a million, tomorrow.
