NAIA Terminal 1 Gets Drop-Off Zone Redesign
The new set-up was implemented after the deadly accident that killed two persons and injured four others.

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC) has implemented parallel parking at the drop-off zone at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 1 and 2 following a deadly car crash last weekend.
The wide white lane is for departing passengers only after they disembark from their vehicles, Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) general manager Eric Ines said.
Ines added that the NNIC provided three parallel parking lanes for all kinds of vehicles, with no waiting time and no diagonal parking allowed, to give way to other incoming vehicles.
The new set-up was implemented after the deadly accident that killed two persons and injured four others.
This change is part of ongoing efforts to make curbside drop-offs safer and more efficient for passengers and drivers alike.
The NNIC was instructed by DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon and San Miguel Corporation (SMC) president Ramon Ang to implement the new plan immediately for the safety of the riding public.
In a public advisory about the new setup, the NNIC said all security bollards across NAIA are undergoing a safety audit to ensure proper installation.
“These were installed in 2019 and are being reviewed as part of broader security checks,” the company said.
