Recreate it at home

If you love cooking and trying out different recipes, you can make your very own egg drop sandwiches right in your kitchen!

What you’ll need:

  • 2 thick slices of brioche bread
  • 1 medium egg
  • 1 tablespoon of milk
  • 1 slice of cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt
  • ½ tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 and ½ tablespoons of mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon of condensed milk
  • Dried parsley
  • Sriracha (optional)

Making an egg drop sandwich is actually pretty easy. Aside from the ingredients above, you will also need a pan and some mixing bowls, and you’re good to go!

  1. First, melt butter on a pan while on medium heat. Place your brioche slices on the pan and make sure that both sides are coated with butter.
  2. While toasting the bread, prepare a mixing bowl and pour sugar, milk, salt, and a medium egg. Whisk the mixture until it is nice and fluffy!
  3. Get back to your brioche slices and make sure they’re not burning. If they’re a little bit toasted on both sides, transfer them to a plate and let them cool.
  4. Cook the egg mixture in the pan over medium heat and gently move the eggs in a circular motion to prevent burning. When making egg drop sandwiches, it’s important to cook the eggs just until they’re nice and fluffy, like “wet” scrambled eggs. Once you achieve this consistency, turn off the heat.
  5. Cut the thick brioche slices in half but not all the way through as they will be folded.
  6. If you want some spicy flavor in your sandwich, spread Sriracha on one half of the folded bread. If you’re not into spicy food, however, replace the Sriracha sauce with cheese instead.
  7. Insert the cheese slice and mayonnaise into the folded bread. Then, stuff the scrambled eggs into the brioche.
  8. For more flavor, you may also add slices of ham, bacon, or meat.
  9. Top if off with sprinkles of dried parsley, a little bit of cheese sauce, and you’re done!
