Severe Tropical Storm Named Gorio Already Inside PAR
The state weather bureau said the center of Severe Tropical Storm Gorio was estimated 1,325 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 110 km per hour.

The center of Severe Tropical Storm Podul entered the Philippine area of responsibility at 11:20 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, and was assigned the domestic name Gorio.
At 5 a.m. today, Aug. 11, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the center of Gorio was estimated 1,305 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 110 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 135 km per hour.
On Sunday, PAGASA said the new weather disturbance was unlikely to directly affect the country’s weather or sea conditions in the next five days.
From Tuesday, Aug. 12, it is forecast to shift west-northwest or northwest, potentially passing close to the southern Ryukyu Islands on Wednesday morning, Aug. 13, and making landfall over Taiwan later that day.
