“LALISA” Drops Today! Here’s Everything You Need To Know About BLACKPINK’s Lisa And Her Record-breaking Solo Debut

Lisa Manoban is set to release her first single album “LALISA” today, September 10 at 1:00 PM (KST). ICYDK, Lisa, along with Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé, make up the popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK that debuted in August 2016 under YG Entertainment.
Even as they belong in a group, it is common for K-pop idols to put out their solo projects as part of their contracts. In fact, two of BLACKPINK’s four members have already released their own music: Jennie debuted her song “SOLO” in November 2018, while Rosé published her -R- solo album with two tracks, “On the Ground” and “Gone,” just March of this year.
Lisa is the lead rapper and main dancer of the group. She is also known as the dance supercomputer because she is able to memorize any choreography the first time she sees it. Not surprisingly, Lisa is now the most followed K-pop idol on Instagram with over 58.8 million followers as of this writing. Her YouTube channel, Lilifilm Official, has over 8.17 million subscribers.
On August 22, 2021, YG Entertainment announced “LALISA,” Lisa’s solo project, which has since been breaking records even before its launch.
700K album pre-orders in four days
The pre-order sales began on August 26, 4:00 PM and ended on September 9. YG announced that the album will be available as a CD (in Black and Gold), a KiT album, and an LP Vinyl. Over 700,000 copies of ‘LALISA’ have been sold across all platforms as of August 30.
Lisa has been breaking and setting stellar records even before the official release of her solo album. HITC says, “This is the first time in 20 years since 2001 that a female soloist has sold over 700K copies in Korea.” She officially holds the highest pre-order record of a K-pop soloist, and fans and music enthusiasts are predicting she will easily become a million seller.
On Ktown4u.com, one of the most popular official K-pop online stores in the world, LALISA has surpassed 300,000 pre-orders on the website alone, making it the second fastest album to reach this number after Rosé’s R. To date, LALISA is also the third best-selling album in Ktown4u’s history.

Her first visual teaser was posted on August 27 and is 27 seconds long. It’s her favorite number since she was born on the 27th of March. The video already has over 12.7 million views on YouTube alone.

Her Title Poster was publicized two days after the announcement. It was confirmed that ”LALISA” is the name of her first single album and her title track.

The second visual poster was published on the last day of August. It currently has over 6.2 million views.

Tracklist Poster
Check that helmet, we’re definitely seeing Lisa ride a motorcycle on her music video! Her tracklist was published on September 6 confirming two tracks titled LALISA and Money. As seen on a tweet, YG said that “Both the title song ‘LALISA’ and the track ‘Money’ are hip-hop genres that feature dynamic rhythms, melodies, and relentless rap. It is time for Lisa’s challenge and competence to shine properly.”

The teaser of her music video was released on September 7 with currently over 14 million views. The video garnered one million views in just 18 minutes on YouTube alone.
