Here's A First Look At Cristine Reyes And Diego Loyzaga In TV5’s “Encounter” Full Trailer

The 2018 Korean drama “Encounter,” one of the highest-rated K-dramas in cable television history, is coming back to Philippine TV through a Filipino adaptation with the same title!
The original series starred Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum. Less than a year after it wrapped up on tvN, Tagalog-dubbed episodes aired on local TV in August 2019, which made it even more popular nationwide. Just last month, it was confirmed that TV5 is doing a Filipino remake starring Cristine Reyes and Diego Loyzaga!
The original plot of “Encounter” revolves around Cha Soo Hyun (Song Hye Kyo) and Kim Jin Hyuk (Park Bo Gum). Jin Hyuk is a young part-time worker nearing his 20s looking for a stable job. He takes an impulsive trip to Cuba, where he meets hotel CEO and lady boss Soo Hyun. They meet again when Jin Hyuk was hired as an employee at Soo Hyun’s hotel in Korea, and despite their age gap, their love story bloomed from there.
In the Filipino remake, Cristine Reyes takes the role of Selene, a former actress who is in a rocky relationship with her husband William, the son of a wealthy tycoon. Selene takes a business trip to scenic Ilocos Norte, where she and Gino (played by Diego Loyzaga) have a brief but meaningful encounter. They both leave Ilocos with the expectation that they will never meet again. However, like in the original series, Gino gets hired at Selene’s hotel in the city, and they instantly get reconnected.
One of the prominent angles in “Encounter” is the age gap between the two main characters. A 2018 Soompi article reports that actress Song Hye Kyo was initially worried about her 12-year age difference with co-star Park Bo Gum, and even joked, “I went on a diet because I had to act with Park Bo Gum. So that I can look pretty.”
The TV5 remake of “Encounter” is similar to the original series in that it also cast actors with quite an age difference: Cristine is 31, while Diego is 25 years old. Will their age gap matter in the story? Will their love conquer all? And will it have a happy ending?

The actors’ 12-year age difference was overshadowed by their talent and chemistry, as well as the show’s moving storyline.
As of February 2020, “Goblin” is the fifth-highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
“Clean With Passion For Now” (Yoon Kyung Sang and Kim Yoo Jung)
Jang Sun Gyeol (Yoon Kyung Sang) and Gil Oh Sool (Kim Yoo Jung) are polar opposites in this light-hearted Korean TV series. It was based on a 2013 webtoon of the same title by Aengo, which revolves around Gil Oh Sool, an employee of a cleaning company, and Jang Sun Gyeol, the boss of the said company.
They are polar opposites because Sun Gyeol is a germophobe, and Yoo Jung is, to put it simply, a whole mess. These interesting characteristics unravel a cute and funny love story that you won’t even notice their 13-year age gap.
Backstreet Rookie (Ji Chang Wook and Kim Yoo Jung)
Backstreet Rookie was based on the 2016-2017 webtoon “Convenience Store Saet-byul” by Hwalhwasan. It is about Jung Saet Byul (Kim Yoo Jung) who falls for convenience store owner Choi Dae Hyun (Ji Chang Wook). Twenty-two-year-old Saet Byul applies for a job at Dae Hyun’s convenience store, hoping that she will get closer to him.
Yoo Jung and Chang Wook also have a 13-year age gap, but don’t fret, they can still make your hearts flutter!
“My Mister” (Lee Sun Gyun and IU)
You may know IU from her hit singles “Celebrity” and “Bleuming”, but what many of us might not know is that she is a talented actress too. In “My Mister”, she stars as Lee Ji An, a young woman who has endured many hardships in life. She meets Park Dong Hoon (Lee Sun Gyun), an engineer who is living a miserable life because his wife is having an affair and he is struggling to keep things together.
These two connected so well in the drama that it’s hard to believe they have an 18-year age gap.
