All The Times Kathryn and Daniel’s Celebrity Barkada “Nguya Squad” Were #FriendshipGoals!

The celebrity barkada of this generation, aka “Nguya Squad,” is “#SquadGoals,” as the GenZers would say. They’re a cool gang experiencing all sorts of fun adventures together. While their most prominent members are real-life sweethearts Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, 14 celebrity personalities make up the squad.
Daniel Padilla, Khalil Ramos, Patrick Sugui, Joe Vargas, Dominic Roque, Marco Gumabao were the original members of the group. They were later joined by their respective girlfriends Kathryn Bernardo, Gabbi Garcia, Aeriel Garcia, and Bianca Yanga, then more friends were introduced to the group, including Ria Atayde, Sofia Andres, Daniel Miranda, and Joshua Garcia. They call their group “Nguya Squad” because they all share a love for food, which is how their friendship started too.
In a tell-all vlog in July, the girls talked about how their friendship started and bloomed. They reminisced and relived their memories as a group, even the small milestones.
They said that they all just instantly “clicked” and despite having different personalities, they all blended well together as a barkada. They also mentioned that their friendship is very low-maintenance, and they don’t demand a lot from each other because they understand that everyone has a busy schedule. They all want each other to succeed in life.
In the vlog, they also exposed each other’s “darkest secrets,” such as: Bianca is always late for events: Kath always replies late to texts and calls; Gabbi is the loudest; Kath and Bianca are tampuhin; Ria would always text because she’s bored; Kath and Ria are just one call away.
All of the girls agree that Gabbi always has the juiciest chismis, Ae has the weirdest mannerisms, and Bianca is the most patient. Gabbi and Kath buy the most useless things, Bianca and Kath are selosa, and Gabbi does embarrassing things when she’s drunk!
“What I like about us is [that] a win for someone is a win for all of us. We’re such a supportive group that even the simple things are celebrated—from TV commercials to postings. Apart from that, it’s nice that we’re part of each other’s milestones because we see each other grow. We’re witnessing each other grow old and grow up together,” Ria says.

Yacht Bridal Shower Party
The group surprised Patrick and Aeriel with a yacht party after they got engaged in January. They wore all-white outfits and celebrated until sundown. The photos show how much fun they had!
Halloween Celebration
This was a cool Boys vs Girls event. At first, the girls were supposed to go as M&Ms in different colored shirts, but they found out that the boys were in a competitive mood and were going to use prosthetics in their costumes. As soon as they got news, they decided to go as Zombie brides. They said that this was probably their most favorite event together because they all looked so cool and spooky. This time they weren’t only #FriendshipGoals, but they were #RelationshipGoals as well.
Dinner Dates
Since they love food, they always hang out over meals. During the pandemic, their group grew bigger, and a few new people were introduced. Sofia Andres and her boyfriend Daniel Miranda started joining their events and trips. Since Kathryn is the ninang of Sofia’s daughter Zoe, they started to hang out more. Where do we sign up?
Beach Trips
Speaking of new members, actor Joshua Garcia also joined the group amid the pandemic. In one post, he wrote, “These beautiful people saved me from drowning in loneliness. Surround yourselves with positive energies during these times, my friends, because there are days in our lives that we all need to swim on our own. I am missing the sun and the gang.” How thoughtful and heartwarming is that? True friends really help you in your lowest moments.
Golf Games
The boys of the group need their own play time too, so they hang out to play golf. What’s cute is that Daniel Miranda even brought his daughter along one time! Who says you can’t be a friend and a father at the same time?
Off Road Camping Trip
A few months ago, the Nguya Squad also went on a camping trip. Their videos from the trip were all over social media too because of how funny and genuine their relationships were. Kath, DJ, Ria, Sofia, Daniel, Joshua, DJ Kat, and Jan were there. They brought 4x4 cars for the off-road adventure, and even went offline on social media for the trip too. We all need a breather sometimes, even celebrities.
