20,000 Factory Workers Expected To Be Hired In Taiwan
Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople said the 20,000 more Filipino employees to be hired will be in addition to the over 120,000 who have found jobs there.

An additional 20,000 Filipino workers are expected to be hired in Taiwan by December, according to the Department of Migrant Workers.
DMW Secretary Susan Ople said 20,000 more Filipino workers are to be hired aside from the over 120,000 already working there.
Ople noted that there are 147,853 Filipino workers in Taiwan as of July 2022, of which 121,756 are employed in factories.
The over 120,000 factory workers as well as those expected to be hired in December, Ople said, would benefit from the new wage structure.
The Taiwanese Ministry of Labor recently issued a new wage order increasing the minimum monthly and hourly wage by 4.55 percent and 4.76 percent, respectively, starting January 2023.
“Once implemented the order will raise the monthly minimum wage from P46,860.40 to P48,994.70 and the basic hourly rate from P311.78 to P326.63,” Ople said.
“This would greatly benefit our (fellow Filipinos) working in Taiwan, most especially in the manufacturing sectors,” she added.
