A road altercation in Barangay Boso-Boso, Antipolo City, Rizal led to a shooting on Sunday afternoon, March 30, killing a rider on the spot and injuring three others.
According to a Pang-Masa (PM) report, one of those injured was the wife of the suspect who fired multiple shots during the incident.
The suspect was seen carrying his wife into their vehicle after the shooting and fled. The other victims were immediately rushed to Antipolo City Hospital System in Cabading for treatment.
(Police clarified on Monday, March 31, that the rider identified only as alias Peter, did not die on the spot and was taken to the hospital. But later on Monday, Lt. Col. Ryan Manongdo, Antipolo police chief, said the victim passed away.)
The suspect was later arrested, with charges currently being prepared, PM reported.
Authorities urged witnesses to come forward with any additional information to help resolve the case.
The incident occurred amid a nationwide ban that took effect on Jan. 12 on the carrying of firearms and on the transfer, reassignment or suspension of state workers and officials, as the country officially entered the election period in the run-up to the May 12 elections.
