She added that she respects the opinions of residents who raised concerns about what they saw as they visited flooded areas in the province last week.

“Ginagalang namin ang comment nila. Wake-up call sa akin. Pero hindi ako maluhong tao eh. Siguro iyon lang na araw na iyon. Pero kung titingnan mo ako, hindi ako ganoon. Pero hindi mo masasabi, may kani-kaniyang opinyon ang tao. Sorry po sabi ko nga kapag umaga kung ano mo ang nadampot mo, ayun na lang ang susuot mo. Minsan lang mangyari, iyon mismong araw lang,” she said.

Pineda also said the provincial government was not involved in planning some national flood control projects, which she said were funded through the national government and discussed through the Regional Development Council.
