UP Grad Tops October 2022 Physician Licensure Exam

The country has 3,826 new doctors, with the University of the Philippines graduates leading those who passed the Physician Licensure Examination, the Professional Regulation Commission announced on Thursday, Nov. 10.

With a score of 89 percent, Justin Adriel Zent Togonon of UP College of Medicine in Manila topped the 5,958 graduates who took the examination in October.

Another UP Manila graduate, Francesca Marie Lagrosa, placed second with a grade of 88.75 percent followed by Pamantasan ng Lungsod (PLM) graduate Karla Joyce Badong, who garnered a score of 88 percent.

University of Santo Tomas (UST) graduate Kim Sia took fourth spot with a grade of 87.67 percent while University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERM) graduate Gamaliel Galigao and West Visayas State University graduate Mark Arlo Segundo shared fifth place, both scoring 87.58 percent.

Far East University graduate Christian Joseph Cruzado and Cebu Institute of Medicine graduate Sonny Redula tied in 6th place with a grade of 87.50 percent while another UST graduate Neil Steven Cachuela and UP graduate Trisha Marie Galapon were 7th placers with a grade of 87.42 percent.

Our Lady of Fatima University graduate Anna Patricia Bartolome, UP graduate Christopher Pilarta, St. Luke’s Medical Center College of Medicine graduate Randy Franz Selim and UERM’s Keith Alexius Wangkay all obtained a score of 87.25 percent and landed 8th.

UST graduate Christian Jerel Cosme landed in 9th spot with a grade of 87.17 percent while UERM’s David Marcos Bildan, University of Cebu graduate Mark Johnuel Duavis, UP’s Chris-tine Bernadette Lo and Davao Medical School Foundation graduate Hannah Leian Tan completed the top 10.

President Marcos, who is in Cambodia for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit, greeted the passers of the physician licensure examination.

“Congratulations to our country’s newly licensed physicians! The nation shares in your pride of your years of hard work,” the President tweeted on Thursday.

Successful examinees are advised to personally register and sign in the roster of registered professionals, although registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certification of Registration shall be done online. – With Alexis Romero
