Singapore, Cebu Top Travel Spots For Filipinos Next Year – Airbnb
Airbnb found the top trending travel destinations among Filipino guests through searches they made during the first three quarters of 2022.
Singapore and Cebu have emerged as the leading international and local travel destinations that Filipinos eye next year, at least based on check-in searches made through accommodation application Airbnb.
Citing searches made by Filipinos during the first three quarters of 2022, Airbnb said the top trending travel spots for international travel in 2023 among Filipino guests are Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korea.
Locally, top trending destinations next year include Cebu City and Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu, El Nido and Coron in Palawan, Baguio in the north, and Pasay and Mandaluyong cities in Metro Manila.
According to Airbnb, the Philippines also welcomed a significant influx of inbound tourists this year, with Singaporeans topping the list.
Following Singapore as top origin cities of guests visiting the Philippines in 2022 were Seoul, South Korea; Los Angeles, United States; London, United Kingdom; and Sydney, Australia.
The top origin cities were based on nights stayed in the Philippines by and international guest from January to September 2022.
Meanwhile, terms of categories most booked by Filipinos, Airbnb said "Tropical" and "Amazing Pools" ranked the highest, followed by "National Parks," "Golf," "Lake Houses," "Beachfront" and "Surfing."
The top categories were based on bookings made by Filipino guests in any destination between May 11 and Sept. 30.
"As the holiday season rolls around, this presents a unique opportunity for Filipinos to take advantage of the travel surge and earn some additional income, and perhaps even pay for a trip to a trending destination," said Airbnb, which recently launched new features to support new hosts.
