Philippines Must Trust US The Most; China, Russia The Least – Survey
Some 89 percent of the respondents said the Philippines should extend either a great deal or a fair amount of trust to the United States, the highest among the 10 countries included in the survey.

Almost nine in every 10 Filipinos believe that the Philippines should extend a fair amount of trust to the United States, the highest among 10 countries included in a recent Pulse Asia survey.
Results of the June 24 to 27 survey released Friday, July 29, showed that Russia and China remained the least trusted among the countries listed in the poll.
Some 89 percent of the 1,200 respondents believe that the Philippines should extend either a great deal or fair amount of trust to the US, up five points from the 84 percent obtained in a similar survey conducted in September 2019.
It was followed by Australia with 79 percent (from 75 percent), Japan with 78 percent (from 73 percent), South Korea with 65 percent (from 60 percent) and United Kingdom with 64 percent (from 56 percent).
Public trust is also high for three countries not included in the 2019 survey: Germany (69 percent), Indonesia (60 percent) and India (51 percent).
Meanwhile, less than half the respondents said fair amount of trust should be extended to Russia (38 percent, up from 35 percent) and China (33 percent, up from 25 percent).
On the other hand, 67 percent of the respondents said the Philippines should not extend too much trust or not trust China at all, down from 75 percent in 2019.
It was followed by Russia with 62 percent (from 65 percent), UK with 35 percent (from 43 percent), South Korea with 35 percent (from 40 percent), Japan with 22 percent (from 27 percent), Australia with 21 percent (from 25 percent) and US with 11 percent (from 15 percent).
Some 30 percent of respondents said the Philippines should not extend too much trust or not trust Germany, while Indonesia and India obtained 39 percent and 48 percent, respectively.
The survey had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.8 percent.
