Top 10: Amazon to release ‘Lord of the Rings’ series next year

“Lord of the Rings” fans, mark your calendars! Amazon is streaming the “Lord of the Rings” series in more than 240 countries and territories in September 2022!

Amazon Studios dropped the first look at the new “Lord of the Rings” series with the caption: “On September 2, 2022, a new day begins.”

The story is still based on the book of JRR Tolkien. The plot is yet to be revealed, but it’s been reported that the story will be about what happened thousands of years before the events in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” books.

Top 9: New ‘Venom 2’ trailer is out

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the second trailer of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage.”

This is a sequel to the first movie released in 2018.

In the newest trailer, we got to know some of the characters better, like Carnage and his girlfriend Shriek, which will be played by Naomi Harris – the most-awaited in this movie. Of course, Tom Hardy is included. He was first introduced as a journalist in the first movie.

“Venom: Let There Be Carnage” is set for release this September.

Top 8: NY governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women — report

According to the state attorney general's report, New York governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed almost a dozen women.

Some of these women are his own staff, which, as per the 168-page report, experienced unwelcome and non-consensual touching from the governor himself.

There were also state employees and constituents who attested to having experienced the same.

Because of this, calls have been mounting pressuring Cuomo to step down from his post.

But Cuomo refused to do so, saying the allegations are not true.

Top 7: Nicolas Cage’s movie gets digital release

“Pig” starring Nicolas Cage is now available in digital platforms like Amazon Prime Studios, Apple TV, Google Play, and more after it was released in theaters abroad.

In the film, Nicolas plays the lead Hunter who returns to Portland in search for his beloved kidnapped pig.

Critics commended Nicolas’ performance and even predicted another Academy Award for his acting.

The film has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and 82% on Metacritic.

Top 6: Nightbirde withdraws from ‘America’s Got Talent’

Singer Nightbirde announced that she will be leaving “America’s Got Talent” to focus on her fight against cancer.

On Instagram, she sadly announced that her condition has worsened since her audition, so she cannot continue her journey in the competition anymore.

But Nightbirde, whose real name is Jane Marczewski, thanked her supporters and said she will be better soon.

It can be remembered that the singer impressed the judges and the netizens when she sang her original song “It’s OK” during the auditions. She even earned a golden buzzer from judge Simon Cowell, which was perhaps the most memorable golden buzzer moments in the history of AGT.

Top 5: Alexa Ilacad to graduate with honors

Alexa Ilacad is such a real life Bobbie. That’s the young Bea Alonzo role she portrayed in “Four Sisters Before the Wedding.”

Alexa is such an achiever and is set to graduate from college with a grade of 1.0.

She happily shared this on Instagram and said that she is a dean’s lister in her marketing course.

Indeed, she came, she studied and she conquered!

Alexa is part of “Init sa Magdamag” which airs on TV5.

 

Top 4: Sharon Cuneta returns, asks for prayers

After a few months in the US, Sharon Cuneta is back in the Philippines.

On Instagram, the singer-actress revealed that she secretly arrived last Aug. 1. She is now under quarantine as part of safety protocols.

On top of that, The Megastar asked for prayers though she didn’t specify the circumstances she’s in.

Despite this, she announced that her movie “Revirginized” will have its premiere this Friday, Aug. 6, via digital streaming platforms.

 

Top 3: Kristine Hermosa gives birth to 5th baby

It’s already baby number five for Kristine Hermosa and Oyo Boy Sotto!

It’s a baby boy who they named Vittorio Isaac.

Oyo described this moment as “perfect timing” as he posted the cute photos of their baby in his Instagram account.

The couple got married in 2011. They already have four kids prior to their latest baby: Kristian Daniel, Ondrea Bliss, Kaleb Hanns and Marvin Valentin II.

 

Top 2: EJ Obiena end Tokyo Olympics journey

Pole vaulter EJ Obiena finished at the 11th spot in the Olympics with what he called his best effort of 5.70 meters.

Swedish Arman Duplantis ruled the event after he was able to reach 6.02 meters while American Christopher Nilsen got the silver medal with a record of 5.97 meters. Former Olympic champion Thiago Braz of Brazil got the bronze at 5.87 meters.
