Top 10: Miss Supranational bans Russia from joining

The world of beauty pageants are also starting to make a stand on Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The Miss Supranational Organization announced that they are banning Russia from joining their pageant.

In a statement released and signed by its president, the beauty organization said it has chosen “to stand up for freedom and unity.”

The first Supranational title holder was a Ukrainian. She was Oksana Moria who won in 2009. 

The Supranational is the first to openly announce the banning of Russia among beauty pageant organizers.

Are we expecting other beauty organizations to follow suit? That we will find out in the coming days.

Top 9: Queen Elizabeth II holds online engagement

Despite testing positive for COVID-19, Queen Elizabeth II is still doing some of her duties.

The Queen held virtual engagements after more than a week of experiencing cold-like symptoms.

She met the two ambassadors of Chad and Andorra virtually, as announced by Buckingham Palace.

Earlier, we reported that the Queen canceled several engagements as she is recovering from the virus.

The Queen will continue to do light duties at Windsor Castle.

Top 8: ‘Bullet Train’ drops trailer 

Sony Pictures has released the action-packed trailer of “Bullet Train” starring Brad Pitt.

“Bullet Train” is based on the novel “Maria Beetle” by Kotako Isaka about an assassin who encountered professional killers aboard a bullet train.

The movie is directed by David Leitch who previously directed “Atomic Blonde” and “Deadpool 2.”

Brad is joined here by Bad Bunny and Sandra Bullock, among others.

It is set for release in the third quarter under Columbia Pictures, 87North Productions and Fuqua Films.

Top 7: Joey King is engaged to Steven Piet

Joey King is getting married.

“The Kissing Booth” star has said yes to Steven Piet after more than two years of dating.

The couple posted their engagement photos and messages to each other on their Instagram accounts.

The two met while filming “The Act,” a series co-produced by Steven while Joey played as Gypsy Rose Blanchard.

Top 6: Kim Hyun-Joong is getting married

South Korean actor and “Boys Over Flowers” star Kim Hyun-joong is also getting married!

In a report from Soompi, the actor and singer announced the news during his concert last weekend in front of his fans at the Gurumare theater.

Hyun-joong is marrying his non-showbiz girlfriend and according to his agency, they asked that people refrain from excessive speculation. 

Hyun-joong was a member of K-pop group SS501 and starred in “Boys Over Flowers” and “Playful Kiss.”

Top 5: Ariana Debose joins ‘Kraven The Hunter’

Award-winning star Ariana Debose is getting recognition after recognition from being Anita in “West Side Story.”

Now, the actress has been cast in Sony’s “Kraven The Hunter.” 

Ariana will play Calypso, a voodoo priestess who fell in love with Kraven.

Kraven is among Marvel’s iconic antiheroes who’s up against venom and Spider-man.

Ariana will join Aaron Taylor Johnson. The movie is set to premiere in 2023 and will be directed by J.C. Chandor.

Top 4: Google, YouTube support Philippine election

As part of an ongoing commitment to connect voters to timely information and help protect the integrity of Philippines elections, Google and YouTube announced a series of product features, partnerships, and programs.

The Google News Initiative supports Meedan’s #FactsFirstPH, a coalition of more than 100 groups.

#FactsFirstPH includes news organizations such as TV5, OneNews.PH, Rappler, civil society organizations, business groups, faith-based communities, research groups, and legal organizations to fight misinformation ahead of the Philippine elections. 

The Google News Initiative has also partnered with the University of the Philippines (UP) to launch a journalist training series and provided support to tsek.ph, a collaborative fact-checking project led by UP.

Top 1: Sean Penn joins Ukraine exodus to Poland on foot

After visiting the Ukrainian capital Kyiv to film some scenes on documentary on Russia’s invasion, Sean Penn joined thousands of refugees fleeing to Poland by foot.

The Academy Award-winning actor posted a photo on his Twitter showing himself on the road as he and his colleagues abandoned their vehicle and walked.

A spokesperson in Los Angeles told Reuters that Sean made it out of Ukraine safely.

Sean is producing the documentary for Vice Studios according to the report of Variety.

As of latest updates, hundreds have already died due to Russia’s attacks against Ukraine. Negotiations have been ongoing in belarus but there are no concrete results yet.
