 Top 10: ‘Little Mermaid’ live-action movie premieres 2023

The live-action remake of “Little Mermaid” finally has a release date.

According to Disney, it will premiere in May 2023.

The movie is led by Halle Bailey with Javier Barden, Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay and Melissa Mccarthy.

“Little Mermaid” will be directed by Rob Marshall.

Top 9: ‘Eternals,’ other Disney movies to be released in theaters

Following the success of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Disney has decided to release their remaining movies in theaters. Well that's in the United States and not yet here in the Philippines due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Eternals” will be shown on Nov. 5, “The West Side Story” on Dec. 10 and “The King’s Man” on Dec. 22.

Top 8: ‘WandaVision’ wins first Emmys for Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios got their first Emmy Awards via “WandaVision.”

The hit series won two Emmys for Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program (half-hour) and Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

“WandaVision” earned 23 Emmy nominations. The remaining awards will be announced in the upcoming ceremonies.

Meanwhile, “The Queen’s Gambit’ was among the top prize winners, including Best Production Design and Best Cinematography for a limited series.



Top 7: Jennifer Hudson wins her first Emmy

Jennifer Hudson won her first Emmy Award as the executive producer of “Baba Yaga” for interactive media for a daytime program category.

Jennifer has already won an Oscar, Grammy and now an Emmy, which makes her one award away from being designated as an EGOT, which is an acronym for the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards.

It can be recalled that Jennifer was presumed to win a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway musical, “The Color Purple.” But she wasn’t even named among the nominees.

Still, go Jennifer, your time will come!


Top 6: Britney Spears is engaged!

Pop star Britney Spears is now engaged to her boyfriend, Sam Asghari.

Britney proudly posted a video on her Instagram account showing the engagement ring and sweet moments with Sam.

The singer broke the news just a week after her father, Jamie, himself asked the judge to end the conservatorship!

Britney and Sam have been together since 2016.

Top 5: Angel Locsin’s father tests positive for COVID-19

Angel Locsin shared on social media that her 94-year-old father contracted COVID-19.

Angel posted both a photo and a video showing her father being brought to the hospital in an ambulance.

Her friends and followers expressed their love and support for her father’s healing.

Top 4: K Brosas files complaint against house contractor

TV host and comedienne K Brosas filed a complaint against a contractor who allegedly left and abandoned the construction of her house.

According to K, she already paid P7 million but the contractor is suddenly nowhere to be found.

In an interview with the press, K became emotional when she shared how anxiety hit her so hard because of what happened.

The “Lunch Out Loud” and “Sing Galing” host did not mention the names of the people involved so as not to compromise the case that has already been filed.

She’s just wishing now that justice will soon be served.

Top 3: ‘Bennifer’ is now red carpet-official

“Bennifer” or Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez made their biggest public moment yet when they walked the red carpet as obvious lovebirds at the Venice Film Festival.
 Ben’s movie “The Last Duel” had its world premiere at the festival.
 Jennifer wore a white couture gown with a slit while Ben had a classic black and white tuxedo with a bow tie.
 It can be remembered that they first became a couple and were even engaged in the late 2000s but they broke up.
 But now, after almost two decades, they are back, so in love, and are now definitely “Bennifer 2.0.”
 Top 2: Dennis Trillo takes snaps with big stars at Venice Film Festival
 Dennis Trillo was in a fanboy mood as he seized the chance to bond and take photos with big celebrities at the Venice Film Festival. Dennis had some selfies with Oscar-winning director Bong Joon Ho whom he even called his “Tito.”

The South Korean director was the jury president of the filmfest. Dennis had Bong Joon Ho autograph his book, “Parasite.”

He also had a selfie with another Oscar-winning director Chloé Zhao.

He also posted a video with Cynthia Erevo, who congratulated Dennis and the team at the world premiere of “On The Job: The Missing 8.”

Top 1: John Arcilla wins Volpi Cup for Best Actor at Venice Film Festival

John Arcilla made history as the first Filipino to win the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival!

This is for his role as a radio journalist in “On The Job: The Missing 8.”

John’s win even coincided with the 102nd anniversary of Philippine cinema!

In his recorded acceptance speech, John thanked the members of the filmfest for choosing him.John expressed gratefulness for the award and his hope to be noticed in the global entertainment scene. He also shared his dream to be a part of a Marvel movie where he could play as Batman’s villain.

Past Volpi Cup best actors include Brad Pitt, Sean Pean and many more.
