‘An Evening to Remember in September’
World-renowned Filipino tenor Arthur Espiritu and award-winning coloratura soprano and crossover artist Lara Maigue will be performing with the Manila Symphony Orchestra on Sept. 23 in San Juan.

Former Cultural Center of the Philippines president Arsenio “Nick” Lizaso said there’s no stopping his “artvocacy” even now that he’s back to being a private citizen. This Sept. 23, the famed stage and TV director will be mounting a gala musical concert entitled “An Evening to Remember in September” at the Kalayaan Hall of Club Filipino on Annapolis Street, San Juan City.
World-renowned Filipino tenor Arthur Espiritu and award-winning coloratura soprano and crossover artist Lara Maigue will be performing with the Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO), Asia’s oldest orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Herminigildo Rañera.
Espiritu has had acclaimed stints in the opera capitals of Europe. Known for his powerful voice and dynamic stage presence, Espiritu is winner of La Scala Award at the Belvedere Competition in 2007aand the distinguished George London Award in 2009.
After his triumphal debut at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Espiritu played the role of Edgardo in “Lucia di Lammermoor performed at the Opera Leipzig and sang Roberto of Leicester in Donizetti’s “Maria Stuarda” with Irish National Opera in Ireland.
Most recently he was in Austria performing the title role of Verdi's opera Don Carlos in a new production at Die Oper Klosterneuburg, an Austrian opera festival held annually in the baroque imperial courtyard of KlosterneuburgAbbey in Lower Austria.
Maigue is the winner of the 2017 Aliw Awards for Best Classical Performer and the 2018 Aliw Awards for Best Female Crossover Performer. The range as an artist allows her to stride the two worlds of vocal performance: classical and pop. She has performed opera arias, kundiman, jazz standards, Broadway, OPM to much acclaim.
